What I Liked About The Dremel 4000 Rotary Tool

It's versatility. Having owned a dremel rotary tool before, all of the attachments from my previous model worked with my new dremel 4000 rotary tool. So if you've owned a Dremel in the past, you can use those same bits and rotary tool accessories with this one.

With an easy to use variable speed control you can take the tool from 5000 - 35000 rpm as slowly as you like.

Unlike the bulky case for the Dremel XPR, the Dremel 4000 rotary tool case is a flat, briefcase type with the little toolbox for the dremel accessories stored securely inside.

Some Negatives About The Dremel 4000 Rotary Tool

Although it's advertised as having a slim, ergonomic body, this tool is actually bigger than previous Dremels. The reason for this is that they had to include a cooling system as well as a circuits that control the speed feedback into the handle which made it bigger. However, it's still small enough to hold comfortably. Should you be getting one to allow you to do detailed work, I would suggest also getting the flex shaft attachment, which will allow you to get into the smallest of spaces.

Ways to use your Dremel 4000 Rotary Tool

These include:
  • Sanding wood (We used the planer accessory to shave wood off our door when it got stuck)
  • Polishing wood, metal and stones using the rotary tool polishers.
  • Engraving/etching metal, plastic or glass (this requires lots of practice)
  • Drilling straight into wood, plastic material as well as metal
  • Cutting through wood, metal, plastic or tile
  • Grinding wood or metal
  • Cleaning rust off objects (It was the only thing that took the rust off my sinks)
  • Cutting your dogs toenails
  • Carve a pumpkin
  • Routing wood
Many Many more uses can be obtained using the dremel 4000 rotary tool. Just don't forget, in spite of how you use it, it is recommended to adhere to one principle.

You only need a small amount of pressure. Have the speed perform the work and you will have far better results and your dremel 4000 rotary tool will last longer.
